Rotors with squirrel cage in aluminium die-cast (maximum circumferential speed around 130 m/s) are an inexpensive solution with a long service life and small rotor weight.

An aluminium alloy is an additional option to pure aluminium rotors for achieving higher circumferential speeds at reduced performance (180 – 200 m/s depending on geometry).
